  2. CD is designed to hold 74(80) min of excellent quality audio. If You want to put on these 90 to 130 min of audio+video do not expect much.
But as answer: You must create XVCD or SVCD with low VBR. First check, if Your player supports these from DVD player list, second read the "how to.." guides to the left from here and search forum. Third, if You have problems following guides, come back and ask

  3. You can convert divx into 1disc-vcd 's with kvcd templates
    Have a look at www.kvcd.net.
Use these templates in tmpenc It's good quality.

I have tried kvcd templates and the quality was not satisfactory in my opinion. you can put more than 80 minutes on a disc but in my opinion 80 min is even too much. I prefer quality but thats me.

I am happy with up to 100 min. CVD(352x480) when done with 5-6 pass CCE image quality 5-10.

I am told only aliens from the planet Zog (just South of Alpha Centauri) can detect any change after 4 passes in CCE. For mere terrestrials, try TMPG VCD template. Unlock, and choose 2-pass VBR. Min bitrate=300. max bitrate=1150. Tick *enable padding*. Motion search precision=high quality. System> Stream type set to MPEG-1 Video-CD( non-standard). Save this template. Then use project wizard to create mpeg fitting to 80 minute CD. This will give excellent results in most cases for a movie 100-120 minutes. If you want to, you can also drop audio bitrate to 160 before saving template.

If you are competent at basic maths, and encoding test samples, use CQ mode. This saves time, and you will be able to walk around outside with all your spare time.

Proviso #1: This will not be any better than standard VCD quality.
Proviso #2: Your player may not play non-compliant VCD.
Proviso #3: Aliens from the planet Zog will disapprove.

Yes, only "Zoggians" can tell if the movie is less than 70 min. When you push the boundary to 100 min., extraordinary earthlings are able to discern. My family units have players that do not agree with VCD VBR so I try to get the most out of XSVCD. By the way banjazzer (hey, that sounds like a Zoggian name?!) lets not set off that TMPGEnc vs. CCE boxing match. Cheers.

Load the *unlock* template in the *extra* directory.
