I have an AverTV card installed on my pc.
I have tried every software under the sun for capturing TV broadcasts and VHS material but I always encounter the same problems.
1) I get an error in kernel something or other.
2) Software won't record in Mpeg1.
3) When recording in mpeg2 the error in the kernels keeps popping up after 80 seconds and forces the application to close.
4) I did manage to capture 60 seconds of VHS material and burned it to a CD. The picture quality is EXCELLENT but there are missing frames, although the entire audio is intact. This is also noticeable when recording is in progress.
I think my pc must not meet the specifications or something. If that's the case what can I do to put that right, and what are likely to be the problems here?
Thanks for your help.![]()

I have the answer.
My pc doesn't have enough ram.
This card needs 128 ram or MORE. Mine just has 64.
Thing is if I get a ram upgrade, will that do the trick?

i'm no expert, but i think frameloss has more to do with a slow processor or slow harddisk than with the available ram.
