  1. I have an AVI file I downloaded that was Divx 3 with AC3 audio, I extracted the audio with virtualdub and converted it to PCM wav 44100hz using AC3decode. I end up with a wav file that is 3 seconds shorter than my AVI file, Is there any way to make adjustments for this 3 second sync problem with TMPGEnc or have I made a mistake in converting the audio?

  2. try reconverting the audio, but don't create a WAV file, just click on SAVE AS AVI... I think that will solve your problem

    best of luck 8)

Have you tried encoding a sample to see whether you actually get sync errors?

  5. I was able to solve my own problem so I figured I would tell you what I did in case anyone else has this problem. I did encode the file and the audio stated out fine but by the end it was way out of sync which makes sense because the file was 3 seconds shorter. I went back and converted the audio again using AC3decode but this time I left it as 48000hz wave instead of 44100hz and everything worked perfectly. I previously thought you had to convert to 44100hz for stereo but this is obviously not the case.

That is very strange. Resampling does not alter the length of the audio!

No its converted to 44.1Khz for use with VCD, TMPGEnc will convert AC3 and 48Khz without any problems.

Some of the DVD rip's made by programs do not always keep in sync, and drift out more and more (DvdX V2 on some VOB files) Dvdx 1.7 OK, somtimes people play the AVI's for a few min and think they are OK
