Help! I can't believe this is happening!
I bought the original retail Monsters Inc. from an internet store (where I buy all my movies) Region 1 (Canada) and THIS SPECIFIC disc *cannot* be played on the Pioneer DV-515 purchased here in Greece. As soon as I insert the DVD, and the trailers start, the player blocks, the disc spins etc. I can barely access the main menu screen, but I cannot see ANY extras, and the movie+extras bets all macro-blocked.
Note: I added the region-free patch (extra) but this did NOT produce problems, ever (not with Perfect Storm, nor Patriot).
IT'S SO WEIRD. My friend's Sony stand-alone players plays it fine. My PC's Pioneer DVD-ROM U303 (SCSI) plays it OK, but my sister's cheap BlueSky player does not!
I had no other previous problems with Disney titles. What the hell should I buy retail stuff and NOT playing in my home cinema?
Anybody else having this serious problem?![]()
Thanx, ShadowMan

(the following text is a standard reply that I've been using to post to ALL the people who have ever submitted requests for pioneer region free hacks. I think you may be able to access the actual movie title on your DVD using a technique in the post mentioned below - I hope so).
As far as I know, its not possible to make a Pioneer player region free by using the remote to enter a 'hack'.
HOWEVER
If you check out my post titled:
All PIONEER Owners, want REGION FREE - w/no hardware mods?!?
You should be able to play DVDs from any other region.
PLEASE, PLEASE! Vote on the poll connected to my post, even if this doesn't work - no-one yet has even replied but as far as I can see, there are no other multiple-machine pioneer hacks apart from mine! Where's all my thanks?!? Just kidding!SUPPORT : http://www.fightdivx.com
