  1. Can I do this? Convert my whole movie to SVCD instead of encoding "source ranges." Then break up the mpeg-2 file AFTER conversion and burn.

    TMPGENC CAN CUT AN MPEG2 FILE AFTER ITS ENCODED.

    GO TO FILE- MPEG TOOLS--MERGE & CUT.

    You can also use bbmpeg, there's a guide on this site under "Edit". I've heard that bbmpeg tends to do a little better than tmpgenc for cutting.

    for SVCD, definitely.
    but...you have to start with .mp2 and .mpa files (or demux w/TMPG) and then multiplex them, and set your max file size(795MB for 80 min. CD)
