Can I do this? Convert my whole movie to SVCD instead of encoding "source ranges." Then break up the mpeg-2 file AFTER conversion and burn.

TMPGENC CAN CUT AN MPEG2 FILE AFTER ITS ENCODED.
GO TO FILE- MPEG TOOLS--MERGE & CUT. -
You can also use bbmpeg, there's a guide on this site under "Edit". I've heard that bbmpeg tends to do a little better than tmpgenc for cutting.
