I've got a divx movie (The Green Mile) and I've tried to convert it to a mpeg (VCD) but if I convert the movie, the sound in the movie comes earlyer then the video. I've read that it could be something with the framerate, but i didn't understand that. Its a 23.976 fps. Could somebody help me solving this problem?

  2. Make sure you use the right template.
For this framerate, you have to use NTSC Film for both VCD and SVCD.

By the way, sometimes there is a audio-video delay when you watch the mpg file on your computer with Windows Media Player. Try the Elecard MPEG2 Player instead.

However, your vcd should work fine in your DVD Player.

Also using Elecard MPEG2 Player makes no difference between the video and the sound diference.

May be the file is corrupt? Have you installed the Nimo Codec Pack ?

When I play the original Divx its a good movie with no differnce between the sound and the video, so I don't think the file is corrupt.

  7. Don't know if this will help but you could try to extract the sound to wav from the DivX with VirtualDub first and use that as audio in tmpgenc. If you end up with the same result you can also try to manually put in a little silence at the beginning of the wav-file with an audio editor to make the video and audio in sync!

I've already tried both of your options, but the sound comes never at the same time as the video. When I put a little silence in tha audio the sound is in the begin almost good, but after a few seconds the video and sound don't match anymore
