I believe you need your "Ears" to view this one. It is an audio file.

I use the new Pinnacle DV500DVD to capture and it produces two streams, one audio stream (.wav) and one video stream (.mp2) so your not going mad it is also a video stream and you'll need an Mpeg2 Decoder to view it. Something like PowerDVD which is what I use is brilliant!

  6. Don't you hate it when companies don't put thought into their file extensions?

Or perhaps we should ignore them more often...

This is great , I've got all my info from this site for two years but only just decided to contribute slack ay!
Like I said before I get a mp2 file NOT m2p. I've found if I change the file extension to .m2v it still works fine so maybe it's a Pinnacle thing, they want to be different. Also if I compress my audio I get an .mpe file and, again, I change the extension to .mp2 and it works fine in Media Player and I can also import it into CoolEditPro and clean it up! Change back to .mpe and I've got perfect audio.
Does anyone know whether the files are identical despite the extension?
Also is anyone else using DV500DVD and Impression SE
