asf tmpegnc problem

i have an asf file that i can't convert using tmpegnc it always gets to the 50 minute mark and it will not go any farther. Tmpegnc will not let me move beyond this point to convert the rest of the file. I've tried virtualdub1.3c to get beyond this but it will not open the file it gets to the point and stops. I've played back the file mp and it works without a hitch. I also tried these programs to: asftools,asfindexgui, and videomaker.
Any help would be great.

have you tried "fixing the bad spots" in asf tools?

i've tried it but everytime i try to repair the file it says file access denied. if you can think of any way to help i'll try it
