  1. IF the svcd has been made correctly , right click on the .mpg and choose " Open with ..." (for instance Wind. media player or PowerDvd) .

  2. bighousie,

I do that, and my computer locks or does not open this file (a file on the CD disk). Hence Nero 5590 made this SVCD not correctly, but why, what should I check?

When you put the svcd in your Dvd-romplayer you should get the following folders : EXT , MPEG2 , SEGMENT , SVCD. Click on MPEG2 and you should get a .mpg file which should be opened in f.i. PowerDvd . What is going wrong ( if so ) when converting to mpg and burning to svcd i can't know!

    just the burning crapped out.
does your drive support buffer underrun protection?
were you doing a lot of other stuff in the background while you were burning?
try this: mount your image with daemontools, and do a cd copy and/or try lowering your burn speed(w/or w/out using daemontools)
what are you askin' me for...
    I'm an idiot!

  13. Thanks, not sure about mounting an image and I don't have daemon tools but I will try lowering the write speed and do it when nothing else is on.

you can find daemontools in the tools section.
as far as mounting the image--piece of cake.
    run daemontools.
click on the icon in the system tray
    select the .cue file
what are you askin' me for...
    I'm an idiot!

  15. I think I must be the idiot. Have downloaded daemon tools and located the cue file, what do I burn it with?

  16. How can I make a cd copy if I don't have the original, it is on the hard drive of the computer?

  17. Okay managed to burn slightly with Nero, but it cut out after 25%. When I looked at the cd it played ok to start with but then split screens to show another movie that was on my hard drive that I had encoded at a different time and that wasn't to SVCD quality. What do you think I have done wrong?

I am having very similar problems trying to make an SVCD from a Premier timeline. Choosing the SVCD template in TMPGenc, OK. Is there anything else that needs to be set? SVCD is supposedly 480 x 480, so does that have to be set somewhere? What other settings are required if any? thanks
