hi,

this is happening to me since couple of weeks,i hav windows 2000,previously all my dat files worked fine but now i just c blank screen wiht no sound but i can c the counter of time increasing when i play these files,i tried running these files on my other pc and they r working fine,plz tell me how to fix this problem,thankx in anticipation and waiting for response soon,plz reply soon (sorry for poor english)

are these dat files MPEG1 or MPEG2, if its MPEG2 sounds like you may have lost or over written the system file or codec used to playback these files. This happened to me when I installed the Nemo pack, once I unistalled the nemo pack and reinstalled my MPEG2 capture card drivers and software the dat and mpeg2 files played back fine.
Now if they are MPEG1 files, wow, never had that happened, try renaming those files to mpg and try them then, also after renaming to mpg, try to remux the files using TMPGE in the tools section, to see if that helps any.
