  1. I wanted to try demuxing a DVD using smartripper. Everything worked fine. I loaded it into MovieFactory and it said that it could not accept the ac3 file (incorrect format). Yet, another cheap authoring program (MyDVD) accepted it. I didn't use MyDVD because it changes the sound format to something less compressed and I have found that I couldn't put much over 2.8 gigs without getting an "over" message. I tried to load the m2v and ac3 file into DVD Workshop (both renamed army.m2v, army.ac3), but I couldn't find a way to import them in. It seems that DVD Workshop only accepts mp2 files unless I've missed something.

    Thanks

You probably already tried TMPGEnc File-->MPEG Tools...-->Multiplex. It seems to accept both m2v and ac3 files. What happened when you tried them?
    Hello.

  4. TMPGEnc worked fine multiplexing the two files together. I DID try importing that file into DVD Workshop. It loaded fine, but I wasn't getting any sound.

  5. Try to find DVD Maestro. It is powerful and not too difficult to learn.

Do you have your audio encoders loaded into TMPGEnc? I hate to sound like I am giving you the runaround, but you have that unique problem that I would really like to know if my solution cures.

You see, I loaded the audio encoders and my performance of Hamlet's Soliloquy came out crystal clear after putting them in TMPGEnc. If you could just load them and encode your files again, I would really like to hear what the results were.

The problem, is believed to be caused by TMPGEnc's sound encoders, which are becoming notorious for stealing audio halfway through processing.
    Hello.

  9. TMPGEnc worked fine. The sound was there when I put it in another program. I just didn't have any sound when I inserted it into DVD Workshop.

In order to get DVD WorkShop to play AC3 you have to do a search to find dvdws.ini and change the line ac3 = 0 to ac3 = 1. It is in the link I posted above.
