  1. I have a ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500. I am looking to purchase a Terk lf-20s 2.4 ghz wireless A/V distribution system. I want to use the tv-out function of the ATI card in conjuction with the leapfrog. The leapfrog system has the ability to transmit video from a s-video input. I going to use the s-video out on the card as my source. First I have not even attempted the tv-out function yet with this card, and I was wondering about its quality. Second I have not seen a single review of this Terk leapfrog system, excluding the phone line network system, and would like to know the quality it is able to produce. I am giving and example system of how to watch divx type files from the pc on a tv via a wireless system. If anyone else has a system similar to this please respond b/c this is the only solution I have found outside of wired systems.

thanks 4 all the help from VCDHELP in helping me decide on the Ati card !!

  2. Well, I can telll you that the s-video output on the ATi card is just about the best you're going to get from any consumer-level product. I use mine all the time (Radeon 8500 128mb) and it looks so fantastic that people ask me where the hell I get these movies.

I have ZERO experience with wireless video broadcast, so I can't help you much there, never heard of this device either. Can you find out what frequency (I assume the device is radio wave based?) it transmits on as well as if the box you hook up to the receiving display source converts the signal digitally or using analog methods? This should give a better idea of what kind of quality you can expect (broadcast TV quality versus sattelite quality)

    Hope this helps,

    Prospero

  3. using wireless A/V systems are not always consistent. over the wireless transmitter i dont think it will matter whether u use s-video or not so if you are spending more just for the S-video it may really be uneeded. also if there is a microwave nearby that is used often it will mess up the signal...

i have a aiw 128 pro and the tv out is crappy as far as my desktop is concerned, but avi and mpeg's look great on my tv when broadcasted,i use a av transmitter that transmits to uhf channel 16 thru 40,i paid $29.95 for it it transmits about 100 ft,i also have one that transmits about 1,000 ft on channel 16 only it works the best.the cheaper ones have to be fine tuned,i bought them because my son wanted to start a neighborhood tv station and show my dvx and vcd's.tv out as far as movies are concerned is good quality

  5. The Terk leapfrog system is 2.4 ghz based, and states that the transmit range is up to 100ft line of sight. Also the spec are available at Best buys website or terk

where did u get the UHF transmitters ? I would think that UHF would be much better quality than a FM transmission like the 2.4 ghz system.

there are several places to get these tranmsmitters, try north country radio or amazing1.com. the 2 gig transmitters usually have to be pointed directly at each other,i think radio shack carries cheaper version of those, you can get the uhf transmitter at ramseyelectronics.com
