  1. Does anyone know of a Steady Shot filter for VirtualDub that allows reducing the erratic camera movement of camcorder recordings? Thanks for any help...

It's open source why not write one. It's also free, you could make a donation to one of the prolific filter writers to see what you get.

when i read the subject "Need "Steady Shot" filter for VirtualDub" i thought to myself " is he just calling out filters from out of thin air". but seriously, snowmoon is right. VirtualDub is open source which means that the author(the last of a lost race of coders) probally works on it on his spare time. i also heard the legend of a mythical and ancient power known as the "donation". donations seem to have a strange effect on these guys. if you are powerful enough to make one, it is written that a "coder" will appear and turn old everyday software into powerful new programs. its just a legend though. LOL

  4. Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone. And no, she is not calling out filters out of thin air. Should have phrased the subject more carefully as in "does anyone know of..." - oh well, at least I posted in the appropriate forum

I take it there is no such filter yet, so I see what can be done about it...

Actually, yes, the poor girl, whom I earlier mistakenably called 'poor guy', did call out filters from thin air, however thin air has its strange ways to thicken.

If its a guy, then its the first guy I ever saw named "Naomi."

BTW, thanks for the link, looks like a great filter. I think some people may not have realized from your post that you had solved her problem!

  8. I'm actually working on a video stabilizing filter right now, because I wasn't completely satisfied with the ones I've tried. It will hopefully be released in a few weeks. Check my filter page.
