    Hello
An friend of mine bougt an VHS tape from amazon.com and it was in NTSC and he got an PAL video (so he canīt watch it) he wanted me to capture it for him to svcd so he could se it on his DVDplayer instead.

BUT I canīt capure it its alots of disortions i think it is Macrovision.
And the movie youst costs 10$ so I think its a waste of money to buy an Macrovision box that fix it for ~100$ for youst this movie.

    So my question is:
Does it exist any Program/plugin that ignore the Macrovision.

    I have
Pinnacle Pctv Pro (witch remote, radio & sterio sound)
VCR with both rca & s-video cables etc...

Iīve read that ATI had an fixed DLL file or something that fixed that problem but does it exist something for mine Pinnacle Card?

I can't speak for software, but I will post a warning....

Most hardware solutions (black boxes) are synced for US framerates (30 FPS), so while it'll eliminate macrovision, on a European tape (25 FPS), it will leave an "artifact" about 1/4 the way up from the bottom in the form of a grey bar.

The Black box that works the best is only $20-30, and is good to have just because it tends to reduce signal loss on playback. For me, it's worth that alone.

May I ask how you are playing it back to convert it? do you have a PAL VCR? I have been doing NTSC <==> PAL for over 12 years, so I may be able to help guide you to what you need outside of software (the hardware is just catching up to where I'm just building my HTPC).

  4. bald_rick...how do i convert PAL video cassette to NTSC dvd/vcd/svcd?? Do i need a PAL VCR or can i play it in a NTSC VCR and try to burn it to svcd/vcd format?? I guess the first question would be...what do i need to hook up between the VCR to my computer in order to record??

    Thanks...
