  1. I'v been using SoundForge to downsample the wave files ripped from DVD. Is there another program that will do the same thing as SoundForge?

  2. goldwave will do this, as will ssrc.exe (shibatch sample rate converter, a command line program that can be used as a 'plugin' to TmpGenc)

ssrc is the best program for that - there is even a GUI for it ..

SSRC is the simplest. Just copy ssrc.exe to the folder with the wav in. Open an MSDOS box and paste the following:

    ssrc --rate 44100 input.wav output.wav

    Just substitute the filenames.
