  1. Hi all, I have been reading the How to convert DivX to VCD page recently, and was wondering: If I have a large video (over 80 mins) and want to split it into two, do I have to split the audio dub file into two parts as well?, if you know what I mean.

    Thanks

EDIT: And how would I do it?

probably the easiest way to do this is to encode as one big vcd, and end up with one big file, and then use TMPG to cut the file into 2 parts.
see this to do the editing: http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencedit.htm
what are you askin' me for...

You ought consider squeezing an 80 min movie onto one 80 min CD by slightly lowering the video bitrate (like 1100 instead of 1150) or going for 128 kbps audio bitrate, but if you dont want to sacrifice quality, using TMPGEnc, select source range and encode first the first half, then the second. (Adjust the split point to a scene change in the vicinity of half the movie.)
The audio and video will be split simultaneously.
If you decite to split over 2 CD's, then you can actually raise the video bitrate to get better video quality.
(All this bitrate tweaking leaves you with out of specs VCD, a.k.a. XVCD - not supported by all DVD's).
