Hello:
So, I finally broke down and bought a POS Apex 1500 and RF converter (I have an old television). I noticed afterwards that the captures I do off of the tv now have a set of 3-4 horizontal lines that interrupt the image every 20-60 seconds (no regularity). This noise doesn't appear on the dv, but only after I encode the dv as MPEG2. It would seem to me that there is some sort of interference, maybe exacerbated from having to split the signal as well. Has anyone else had this sort of problem with either a RF converter or weak CATV signal?
I am pretty sure that I can solve the problem by disconnecting my DVD player when capturing and removing the RF convertor from the equation.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated ...
I am using MMTools and a Formac Studio dv.
