I read somewhere in the Converting section that 700mb CD's can take AROUND 80min of VCD movie. I have a 84min movie that i want to squish onto one CDR because i need to distribute it and it is impractical to use 2 cds. So what does AROUND 80min mean? 79min . .78min . . 77min. I can probably cut the movie down to 81min but still thats over!!
Any sugestions?![]()

My interpretation of this rule is: You can squeeze almost 800 MB of (X)VCD MPEG file onto a 700 MB/80 min CD-R.
Depending on wether it's encoded to specs or not, this may represent any amount of movie duration. I usually aim for 780 MB when encoding, tweaking audio/video bitrates to take full advantage of the medium. I can do this as I make VCD's for my own use, and know that my DVD player can handle non standard VCD's. If you're going to distribute your VCD's, you'd better stick to specs, which would result in about 78 min, 45 secs on a 80 min CD.
