    hi everybody,

    just done my first ever DVD rip to SVCD using the Sefy Levy guide under HOW TO > DVD Rip and it works great and the quality is really good and i could not believe how easy it was,

    great site, great info, great ppl,

    anyway enough butt licking

    just another question

    i have a dvd with extras on the same disk, can these be ripped aswell and which tool would do the job??

    Just use smartripper (can be got from doom9.org) and select the vob's from the list. Convert the same way you did the main SVCD.

  5. Rather than ripping each individual "extra" item in turn, I prefer to use DVD Decrypter (or SmartRipper in File Mode) to simply rip the entire disc. Then, you can use FlaskMPEG or DVD2AVI to open up the VOB files to see what's there. Since FlaskMPEG has an IFO parser and a preview function, it is very useful in this regard.

    BTW, the menus on a DVD are usually stored in the VTS_xx_0.VOB files.
