  1. well i have successfully converted divx's to svcds many times and have no problems at all...i have also converted when i have used the source range option and split the file in to two files so that they can fit onto disks

so recently i used virtualdub to extract to audio on a divx to a .wav file and then i used tempgenc to encode that video file along with the audio file into two svcd files

i used the source range option and encoded the first half first and then the second half second

the first half turned out great audio was synced just fine

the second half however the audio sync was way off (the audio is about 3seconds infront of the video)

    so whats up with this?

    thanks for the help

Is your divx movie at the same framerate as your SVCD template?

  3. yes...i made sure to do that

the really confusing part is that the audio is fine on the first half...its the second half that is messed up

  4. I read in one of the previous forums about this problem and there was a simple solution to it, but i cant remember what it was. The forum was dated 27th September, you can also try searching forums for "audio synch".

I've read in the guides that for converting Divx it is best to extract the audio to wav, but I've run into the same problem in getting sync errors when doing that. Now I just let Tmpgenc handle the video and audio from the AVI file and have not had any problems. I do have TMPGENC using SSRC and tooLame external audio tools, which perhaps makes it even better. I've converted many Divx films to multi-disc SVCD now without any sync errors. Using TMPGEnc Plus 2.58, btw, but previously used the freeware earlier versions with equally good results.
