  1. Well i am sure most of you have run into this problem like i did. You extract your mpgs from your svcds, demux and re-encode your audio... then you merge all yoru files with tmpeg and author your dvd with spruceup or whatever only to find that the point where your svcds were orginally cut the audio goes out of sync. Usually pretty bad. Now i have been trying for 2 weeks now to find away to get around this. All i wanna do is put 2/3 svcds on my dvd-r's, it shouldnt be that hard right? well, i finally did it. So here is what i did for all of those interested.

    1. Ripped out mpgs from each disk. ( i did this with one svcd that was 3 disks and one that is 2 disks. i will call them mpg 1-1, 1-2,1-3,2-1,2-2 respectivly)

    2. Demuxed audio from each mpgs and batch re-encoded them with tmpeg to 196kbps and 48hz

    3. Used spruceup to author a dvd with the mpgs. (this is done to get all the mpgs into a vob format.) You will need to make a menu with 5 buttons and link each of the disks to one of the buttons in their correct playing order. If you dont do this you will not be able to export your titleset. after you export the title set you will have 5 vobs, each vob being the one of the orginal disk mpgs.

    4. Now delete all the ifo's and vobs you dont need. Spruceup will make some vobs for your menus and such, you dont need them. All you need is the 5 vobs thta contain the orignial mpgs.

    5. Now rename all the vobs to VTS_01_001, VTS_01_002, and so on.

    6. Open vobedit, open VTS_01_001 and then click edit join clips to join all the vobs together.

    7. after you have joined all the clips you will have 4-5 vobs now. Now you need to open ifoedit and create ifos for these new vobs. After you have created the ifos, you will need to correct the vobs and nav points. you do this under vob extras.

    8. After all taht is done, "get VTS sectors" for you ifo files.

    9. Now you will have a complete set of vobs and ifos that you can burn with in Nero. Just make your AUDIO_VTS and VIDEO_VTS folders and away you go.

This has worked for me numberous times now. All my audio and video is in sync. You can switch to your second movie by using the next key because when the vobs are created, each mpg is considered a chapter. So you will have 5 chapter points you can usee to move thru your VOBs.

There are a few flaws in this.

    1. If you try to demux your vobs to get the audio and video separate so you can try to author it, it doesnt work. The headers in teh mpgs are incorrect and i do not know how to correct this yet.

    2. There is no way that i know of to create a menu with vobs. If someone knows, a post to explain it would be appreciated.

But other then that, it plays perfect in my apex 703 and 1100w.

hope this helps some ppl out. If anyone can figure out how to get some menus in the mix that would be great
