  1. I just dl TmpGEnc 2.58 from the tools area . My question is will it encode to Mpeg1 -VCD or Mpeg2 -SVCD and do I need a plugin for this?
How in the program can I set it up for one or the other(VCD or SVD)

    Thanks

Yes, TMPEGEnc will do mpeg1 and mpeg2. VCD is mpeg1, SVCD is mpeg2 and so is DVD. please read the following page www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgencexplained.htm
May the force be with you.

It won't directly encode to mpeg-2 (as of v.2.57) as it relies on third-party software to decode mpeg-2, such as that provided by CyberLink, Ligos or Sony. eg, it will encode if you have PowerDVD installed. It also is time-limited for encoding to mpeg-2.

So, get an earlier version if you don't already have an mpeg-2 decoder, but you still have the time-limit on mpeg-2. One answer is to buy it. Another answer is to search for version 1.2a which had no time-limit on mpeg-2 encoding, and was free. There may be other answers...

Ah, yes both but if you want to edit a SVCD you need a special codec, there is only 3 to choose from, Power DVD 4, provides the best.

At the bottom, click the load button and load a template (VCD or SVCD) for PAL or NTSC
