  1. All I want to do is to take a Divx(.avi) movie and put it into VCD format to watch on my DVD player......I picked the movie, Meet the Parents, which was 695 mb before doing anything.....I used Virtual Dub to save the .wav file separate from the .avi. I then merged the two files and saved it as the output of meettheparents.mpg....that file ended up being 1.026GB!!!...How do fit that onto a CD-RW? I am sure that the file has to be split but I cant figure this out for the life of me....can someone break this down into the easiest of methods?

    Thanks,

I use TMPGEnc to split my mpeg files. open tmpgenc click file>mpeg tools
click merg & cut. be sure to select the right type of vcd, don't use vcd automatic. Use MPEG-1 Video CD for a stanard compliant VCD.
May the force be with you.

As above, click ADD and select your Mpeg file

Highlight the file in the box and select edit

Move the slider to the end to get play time, then move to half of that to mark end.

Click OK, then type output name and location "c:\temp\part1.mpg"

    Click run

Click Edit, move slider to middle (Same number as before) and mark this as start, move slider to end and mark this as end....... etc

Click OK, then type output name and location "c:\temp\part2.mpg"
