  1. I'll try and be less confusing here now. I just want a player with good raw mpeg suppot. I've tried the apex 1100W. Its pretty good but has trouble with oddball resolutions. I want one that stretches to fullscreen regaurdless of the mpeg's resolution. Just a brand name or another apex model number would be a good starting point.

  3. There is none to my knowledge.Standalones play whatever resolution is on disk,it is up to your authoring software to set aspect ratio.

  4. thanks. You may be on to something there though, tmpgenc does have the 'set aspect ratio' option that gets largely ignored. Unfortunetly, to my knowledge there is no tool to change this setting without re-encoding from scratch.

  5. If anybody bothers to read this -- the Mintek 1600 I'm pleased to say, does to this quite nicely.

  6. I have a Daewoo 4000S which I picked up at Target for $80.00 and to my surprise it does play any size mpeg that I have on a CDR.I can even scan forward & backward (but not more that about 2 or 4x). The picture does seem to fill the entire screen too.
