Hi All,

I would like to convert a ripped standalone VOB to a DV AVI (uncompressed AVI) file. Is these any easy way to do so without *any* loss between the steps?

The request may sound backwards to most, but here is my rationale...

I have some ripped VOB's I have saved over the years on CD-R in hopes i can burn them to DVD someday (bear in mind I do not have the IFO file etc, I simply kept the relevant VOB's)

Now I have a DVD recorder(settop Phillips) that does not allow for such direct digital copies and I have thought of a clever way -- convert the VOB to DV AVI files and then move them back to my Mini DV camcorder(using ULead VideoStudio which allows for DVD AVI to be played and saved back into a Mini DV camcorder). At this stage, the DVD AVI is De-Macrovision'ed etc..

I can then play back this Mini DV tape and "Firewire" it back to the set top DVD recorder and thereby never leave the digital realm and yet have a back of the VOB on a DVD to watch.

HELP!
