  1. i've been having some trouble ripping an episode of the sopranos off of a dvd with smartripper. it seems that the ripping process rips the first vob file, then the 2nd one, but that the end of the episode is back again on the 1st vob file, so it gets written over when it tries to rip that part. how can i fix this? its the only one off of any of the dvds that i've had trouble with. season 1, volume 3 if anyone is curious

I had the same problem....tried several things...Heres what happens...I usally set smart ripper going then comeback and its finished...But if you stay and watch it the whole time it will pop up a dialog box asking you if your sure you want to overwrite the file....say no...it will ask for new name or "save as" change to a "3" at he end and hit ok.....If nobodys there to say no it must pause a second then justs overwrites.

FYI...That only happens with the first episode on the disc....the other threee rip like normal...

  3. I just finished "The Sopranos: Complete Second Season". An interesting project For the ripping part, I suggest that you use latest DVD Descryptor instead of SmartRipper. DVD Descryptor has become my favorite ripper, because it supports IFO parsing AND PGC ripping, which is great for ripping multiepisode DVD. It prompts you when it's going to overwrite a file, which SmartRipper doesn't do. In addition, DVD Descrytor is much more stable and robust than SmartRipper.
