Ok, I've finally gathered some courage to follow the guides with a view to converting my VHS and camcorder contents to CD - VCD/SVCD etc. I've got stuck at the first hurdle. I was trying to download VirtualDub for capturing my video as recommended in the Newbies Guide and I'm a bit confused. The site asks for "mirrors" and when I select one (randomly as I don't know which one to select) it takes me to some university. Is this part of the download or am I going bonkers? I hope I don't encounter similar problems at downloading TMPGenc as that's the next step I understand.
Any help would be appreciated.

ricky,
If you're downloading VirtualDub from http://sourceforge.net it will direct you to a list of mirror sites. Choose one that's located nearest to you in terms of miles/kilometers and it usually will be the fastest, but not always. They do this to offset the server demand on the main server. In the end it won't matter which one you choose, it will still be the same file.Warning! I'm baaaaaaaaack -
I chose one but as I said it took me to some university. How do I proceed with downloading from there?
I'm in Australia by the way so I suppose it doesn't matter which one I choose, right?
Thanks
