Here my set up
S-Video from digi cable ---> ati all in wonder 7500
Record in virtual dub with Huffy Codec
Convert to mpeg 2 with tmpgenc
When i author to dvd, fast motion is extremely ghosty, i dont know if that is the right word for whats happening tho. The picture doesnt move fluidly, it sorta shows the same object chasing itself. I encode at 7000-8000 kbs, for a 55min/4.7 gig dvd, i would think capturing at this bitrate would eliminate these problems. From what i've described, can anyone please help me get rid of the ghosting? is it in my conversion from avi--> MPEG2? i'm really interested, because the results i am getting with capture, picture quality wise, are suberb, i'd say they rival commercial dvds to my eye, but the ghosting problem is quite irritating... Much thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Thanks for reading!
