    Hi, Perhaps I have some sort of conflict, becuause my os9 superdrive imac also has Toast and Disc Burner(?), but when I load my blank dvdr in the drive when instructed by IDVD, a prompt comes up saying it does not recognize the cd and if I want to format it?
    Also, though I know my imac is not for this, is there any to somehow hook up an external ntsc monitor to view final cut pro clips better?

    It isn't one of the new 4x DVD-Rs is it? If so, that's the reason. Using the 4x DVD-Rs can cause your drive to burn out (literally).
