yes -- but are they sequaneced images (like movie frames) or still images you want to hold for a while on the screen - then flip to next one ..

i assume its the first part as that i know about --

use tmpgenc or CCE version 2.66 (only) - they both take jpeg sequancially numbered frames and turn it into a mpeg file ..

you will need to name your files like this:

    image.00000.jpg
    image.00001.jpg
    image.00002.jpg
    ........ and so forth

if you miss a number you will have a drop out ..

make sure all are same size ..

to rename easy - use ACDsee (best becuase you can check your file at same time as well as it can make a movie slide show to give you idea on how it will look) , or look for re-namer programs .

TMPGEnc - just load the first file , TMPGEnc will find the rest (in the same dir of course) ..

set source as progressive and set your output to what ever you want ..
you can set source as progressive and output as 29.97 interlaced ..

this is normal setting for dvd and is accually progressive sorta output that works ..

dont set output to be 23.97 as source was not a telicine source.. unless you know that the pullup is going to look alright ..

you will get very good results .. as jpeg are not that dif than I frames in mpeg file .. of course the quality and compression of your source files will play a part in your output .. but if i use jpegs that are set to 100 quality (still some compression even at that setting) .. i can get superb results ..

  3. Well I tried using tmpgenc and you cant set it to like display each image for 5 seconds or so before progressing to the next.So basically you would have to manually flip through the images.

Anyone have any other ideas on how I could edit these into an mpg that will automatically display each image for a certain amount of seconds?

Premiere / File / Preferences may be set to any duration so that a jpeg could play for 300 frames or 10 seconds.
The nice thing about Premiere is that the format size may match the jpeg image as in 1280 x 960. That fills up my hi-res monitor with a show of still images saved as a movie file, avi.
bbMPEG, a Premiere plug in, would encode to mpeg but not at that big size.

it would have saved me a lot of typing if you had first said you wanted to make a flip book with slide show with duration .. : )

as the other guy says - you can do it in adobe .. also you can do it Vegas video but adobe better for that one ..

for cheap way you can also do it in "swish" and export it as a avi ... swish is a great program

    Hey dragndime,

If all the images are bmp or jpeg and the same size, and if the Premiere project is set at the same time, and if all the images are in one folder, then all you do is import, folder, and dump it onto the time line. Any number of images may be imported in this way.

I used studio dv to make a photo album in this fashion. I impoted all my jpegs added sound and transitions. Worked out great. Was also able to set the time duration of how long you saw each picture.

  10. I have used Studio Version 7 and Windows Movie Maker to do this - makes a motion MPEG movie. If you want a picture VCD or DVD using stills you might consider Ulead DVD Pictureshow. There are other programs that do this too - you'll have to get all of what you want to do & match up each method to see if a particular one works for you.
