Okay my standalone dvd player doesnt like svcd movies unless you put the header trick on. and my brothers dvd player is the same.
so i made some svcd's with the trick on it. The movie also has the 3:2 pulldown on playback.
On my dvd player it plays wonderful and looks great.
My brothers player plays it but its shaky like the 3:2 pulldown is missing.
could the shakiness be caused because the file has a mpeg1 header on it and a 3:2 pulldown header on it and that his player simply isnt detecting the 2nd header (3:2) and my player is reading both so its fine?
If anyone knows anything about this let me know.

okay ill try some patience
but
considering its been viewed almost 40 times and nobody has an opinion its frustrating. after all isnt a forum a place to get help

You may be able to help us all out here by posting a new topic based on the make and model of the DVD player that is haveing the touble. It's hard enough to figure out how a DVD player will react to a completly non-standard formatted stream, let alone one we don't even know the make and model of.

Okay the dvd player that plays these discs i created just fine is a Toshiba sd-3750
The dvd player having trouble is a Mintek 1600.
Im just wondering if
1) is the 3:2 pulldown on playback just a header on the file?
2) is it possible that since there are 2 headers on the disc (mpeg1 & 3:2 headers) that the Mintek player cant recognize it correctly?
sorry for the impatience earlier. I dont want to be the hated guy in the forum. -
A quick search would have revealed that the Mintek 1600 does not SUPPORT 3:2 pulldoes on cd media ( VCD, SVCD, CVD ). This has been discussed within the past week.

You can use the 3:2 pulldown filter under advanced and encode at 29.97, but it will reduce the quality of the output.

okay sorry
but do you know (out of my curiosity) is the 3:2 pulldown on playback just a file header? or part of encoding throughout the movie?
and if i encode a whole movie (w/ 3:2 ) and then split it will the 2nd part play the same as the first?
