  1. When I make a video cd I follow these steps. I decompress the avi audio. When I do this it makes a pcm_avi file almost twice the size of the actual file (699 MB avi to a .98 GB pcm_avi file). I do this because it takes 4 to 6 hours where as if I did not it would take 12 to 14 hours to convert from avi to mpg. Is there a program after you change from pcm_avi to pcm_mpg to compress the pcm_mpg file to a mpg file. I am trying to cut down on the time it takes. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.

  2. Wait a minute, you decompress an AVI file? You mean like a divx movie to uncompressed AVI?!? Thats not needed. Just take the AVI file and convert it straight to MPG. If you cant do a straight convert because of ita audio format I would suggest you do it like this.

    1. Take that video file and load it into VDub
    2. Have VDub save out the WAV file.
    3. Use TMPGEnc and set its video source to the avi file and set its audio file to the WAV file.

VDub will take the wav audio out REALLY quick.
