When looking at online stores for blank CDRs, I see color combos such as silver on silver, silver on lt blue, silver on green, each with a different set of dyes such as cyanine or phthalocyanine. Exactly what is the difference amongst the colors? Is one better than the other in terms of writing ability, performance, durability, or is it purely cosmetic?
Thx

Reflective layer and dye are more than just marketing, they are important.
www.cdmediaworld.com has some ( outdated but relevant ) information.
