Is there a way to copy some of my tapes from my VCR onto here so I can make a CD that will play here or one to play on my DVD? I've made a couple from here to play on my DVD that look OK except for the picture quality. I'm still new at this.

You need some form of analog capture card to go from your VCR to your computer. See capture card comments.
