  1. Does anyone know of a good program to convert a 5.1 ac3 down to a lower bitrate? I would like to convert a 448kbps down to 384kbps. I tried using ac3 machine but there was something wrong with the output file and maestro wong accept it.

    Thanks

Only thing I can think of is to use Sonic Foundry Soft Encode to reencode the file.

Just curious, why do you want to lower the bitrate?

  3. I miscalculated the video file size and now my project is 60 megs over dvd limit. I figured I would rather lower the bitrate on the audio then have to spend another 6 hours reencoding the video. I dont have sonic foundry so I guess I'll convert to wav and then let DVDit pe convert to 2 channel ac3. Non of the shareware/freeware programs seem to handle ac3 very well.
