I tried to install Spruce Up on a computer running Win98 First Edition. The installer says that it requires Win98SE,ME, or 2000. Is there anyway to get Spruce Up to install on Win98FE and not upgrade to a newer version.

  5. Well, lets put it this way: if it tells you that you need 98SE, it means you need 98SE!
Second edition has a lot of system files updated and corrected from bugs.
You can read about it on microsoft web site. I had ME and it worked fine, never had any problems.
As for Win2kPro sp3: BSoD caused by sp3 only. Read articles that microsoft posts on their sites. Remember: those people are still pros's.

    Good luck.

If by that you mean prostitutes, I would most definitely agree!

  7. I have 2 machines, a Pentium III 700 and an AMD 1.3.
SpruceUp installs and runs fine on the Pentium but won't run at all on the AMD1.3!!!
I suspect the AMD chip is not fully compatible with some programs.
