I'm having trouble with some of my SVCD's. Some of them play really choopy on my DVD player, but some play great.
The symptoms of the choppy ones are:
If I converted from DIVX files encoded with 23.976 (24) fps and used the NTSCFilm template in TMPEGEnc. Theese play like the movie is played back at a slightly slower framerate, it's like lagging a bit, but movie and sound are in sync, but you get the feal of lag.
If I use the same template on 23.976 fps films but add the 3:2 pulldown filter they play real choppy. Like when the camera pans it's choppy and you can see "ghosting" in the scenes. Audio and Video are still in sync, but you still get the lagging feal.
When I convert a DIVX file encoded in PAL 25fps and use the PAL template in TMPEGEnc it plays real smooth, like a DVD.
Now I would like to get this result from the files with 23.976 fps but I can't seem to get it right.
Can anybody help me please?
Thanks in advance.

You can do what I do with NTSC(film) DivX that I convert to (S)VCD. Change the framerate to 25fps with Virtualdub, and shrink the extracted wav to fit the new time. Then burn with a PAL template.
You will find some more info here:

What speed are you burning them at?
I've had some stuff, particulary divx > svcd > vcd with the header trick, that are choppy if I burn them at a rate greater than 1x.
Try that, it solves many problems.
