I am following the guide by Sefy (Hat's off, fantastic job!). When I complete step two and go to use the next program, TMPGEnc 2.57 to start the next procedure, I don't have the required mp3 file. Instead I have 3 .ac3 files.
If you look at the guide you'll notice it has a mention to MP3Compression or something similar which is an option supposedly in DVD2AVI which I do not seem to have.
If anyone here could help me I'd greatly appreaciate it 8)

which guide is that ? I think Sefy wrote a few.
HeadAc3 is a program that can convert .ac3
to mp3 but I'm not sure I understand what you
are doing with DVD2AVI?
what are you trying to do exacty? -

Can you please go there and scroll down to the DVD2AVI bit. This is the section of the guide I want to acheive but I cannot get the necessary mp3 file, I get an ac3 file. -
At the end of the DVD2AVI process you should preferably have a wav file (if you want to input it into TMPG). You have got AC3 files because under the Dolby Digital setting you have chosen *Demux* rather than *Decode*. You don't want an mp3 file.

banzazzer is correct but I think you have the version of DVD2AVI
that creates an .ac3 regardless. You want version 1.76+ by LollJ
(DVD2AVI comes in diff mods by diff authors)
Get it here:
http://arbor.ee.ntu.edu.tw/~jackei/dvd2avi/
Under audio set demux, and track 1, downmix.
Run as per sefy's guide and you should get a .wav file
You don't want a mp3 as sefy's guide suggests - you want a
.wav file when dealing with tmpgenc (as you do in the next step of the guide)
For the rest, follow Sefy's guide and you should be fine.
goodluck -
@ both tilbrooka and offline, if you read my guide (the old one anyway) you'd
see I did NOT in anyway recommanded to use MP3, I specificly wrote
NOT to use MP3 option!
Now in the Updated (v2.1) guide, the new DVD2AVI no longer has MP3, so it
has been completly removed from the guide.Email me for faster replies!
