cool edit 96 lets you edit wav files. Unregistered, it only lets you pick two out of around 7 options... but if you make "save" is one of the choices you make, then you can open it again and again with different filters and whatnot selected. I'm sure you could find it to download just by searching yahoo for "cool edit 96"... what the heck.. I found a link for you. http://support.syntrillium.com/updates/ce96.htm
Have fun!

SoundForge is the best for wav editing
not sure what the unregistered version lets you do or not do...
try searching the web for it
it's great for NoiseReduction -

Thanks ben, but how do i use it? don't i have to single de-multiplex it first in TMPGEnc, then save it to a file, then edit it? I got that part down, but how do i edit? Just play around 'till i get what i want? I would appreciate if you were to help me again. Thanks -
Open up the program, and then open up your .wav file into it. I'm not sure what you want to do to the sound file, but if you just want to delete parts, and move things around.. that's very simple. You highlight the portion you want to change, and cut it, copy it, delete it, amplify it, etc. I'm sure you'll figure it out just by playing around in the program.. but if you are trying to do something specific, then let me know, and I'll see if I know how to do it. I'm warning you, I am by no means an expert

I do have something specific in mind. I want to get rid of an echo and to amplify the sound and to give it some bass. is that possible? Please help me again, ben. I don't care if you are an expert or not. As long as you can give me some form of help, i'll be happy. Thanks

Open it up with the "save, external clipboard..." and the "Amplify, Envelope,..." options selected. Open your .wav file. Go to Transform-> Amplitude-> and choose Normalize. enter 100% as the value and hit ok. If it isn't loud enough, you can try Transform-> Amplitude-> and choose Amplify. Double click the preset of "3dB Louder" and hit ok.
Now, for the Bass Boost. You will have to save the wav after doing the above modifications. close cool edit and open it again. This time with the "save, external clipboard..." and "Filter and Noise Reduction" options chosen. Open your file again, and go to Transform-> Filter-> FFT Filter. Choose the preset of "Bass Boost" or "Sub-Woofer Boost" depending on the frequencies you want to boost more. Hit OK and save the file after the filter has been applied.
As for the echo, I don't know how to get rid of it. But 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Thank you SOOO much ben, and you're right, 2 out of 3 ain't bad at all. With the bass boost on it and the amplifying, i can barely hear the echo now. But i would still like to get rid of it. Oh well. Thanks again ben.
Thanks a million
