My capture software experiments:
AVI_IO - Seemed to work OK but expired on me after two days. Downloading every month = pain in the but.
Freevcr - Ok too but sometimes the sound sticks on and I have to reboot.
Winvcr - Would have loved to try, but it only let me cap 20 seconds. What's up with that? How can I make any kind of determination?
Hauppauge's wintv cap program (can't remember name) - shot myself in the foot with this one. Since I installed the btwincap driver, none of hauppauges stuff works. Oh well.
Virtualdub - Totally free and works great. Lots of options, etc. It's a winner for me. I just have to remember to unclick the "stop on left mouse click" thing.
Anyone have any other ideas? Note it's difficult for me to get files bigger than about 1 Meg to it. I use the computer for capping ONLY (no IE, no outlook, not even a modem!) and have to transfer files from my "internet" computer (no burner).
