Ok I got frustraighted with the whole DVD thing so I did the only thing that helps once I get flustered, I walked away for a while. I have no even hooked my burner up in over a month... but today I got back into the swing of things and have had a break through.

Now I'm using a fairly "cheesy" meathod, I'm using the guides over at Doom9s to strip out all extras and menus leaving only the main movie and letting IfoEdit build new IFOs and its GREAT! It uses Vobrator and though I've never used it until today and it does crash alot its a great tool. When Ifoedit is done I'm burning the files it created in NERO.

Now for my question. I have a movie that is still to large... I know there is a way to use Vobedit and ReMPEG to reencode the video then put it back into its original vob... anyone have a walk though for how this is done? I honestly have never used either much in the past so assume I know nothing please If I can figure out this last thing then I'm pretty much set.... menus mean nothing to me... A movie with chapters is just fine.

    Anyone?

    flaystus,

I too became frusrated. I too had system-overload.

I too had to walk away for a while.

I read so many guides, well it was just "info-overload"!

I offer this suggestion because it was the answer for me.

    Try www.dvd2dvdr.com.

It works. Take it step by step. You will find the programs.

    regards
    Jim

tumbar thanks for the info... basicly I have a meathod that I like at this point and while your link is good info it doesn't explain how I can put the resulting m2v back into the vob thus replacing its video with something smaller. I know that vobedit can do this just not how... soon as I find out that one thing I'm all set and very happy with the results.

When remuxing, better to use the old 0.6 version of ifoedit (available from derrows site), the newer 0.932 can cause the video to pause continually on some movies. Derrow is working on the problem.

  8. I have used dvd decrypter to strip a movie "the mummy"
and I also cut out the last 2 chapters which contain the end credits.I then used ifoedit to create new ifos and then burned it on dvd-r and it works perfectly.I was able to reduce it by 1 gb and not reduce the quality.
