  1. Hi.
    I need help with Gordian Knot.Everytime I shall make an .avi file from GK it ends up with one file that is 150 MB.But the file should be around 700MB.
    The dvd i use is PAL and it's 1:19 long.I don't know what I do wrong,so please help me.
    First I ripp the dvd,then make an .asv file with DVD2AVI and then try to encode with GK,and everytime end upp with an file that is 150 MB.

    I follow your method partway, but with DVD2AVI I produce a wav and a d2v file. I read the d2v file back into GK, do any cropping and resizing, and output an .avs file. At this stage I use Virtualdub directly to encode, using the bitrate suggested by GK. This works brilliantly, and I can usually encode to with a few MB of my target size.

    The critical difference, I think, is I use *save* rather than *save and encode*.

    This is good advice for encoding mpegs, but not so good for encoding avi. I know TMPG can encode to avi, but I have yet to work out how to get it to do 2-pass. If you know, please tell me. 8)
