  1. I have toshiba 61 inch HDTV and im converting divx to vcd to watch on my standalone which setting for the aspect ratio is best? best as in best quality picture and sound?

    1:1 VGA
    4:3 525 line NTSC
    4:3 625 line PAL
    16:9 line 525 NTS
    16:9 line 525 PAL

    The aspect ratio setting has nothing to do with quality.
    If you have in example a NTSC 4:3 TV, set it to 4:3 525 line NTSC. A wrong aspect ratio setting make the video looking stretched or squached, nothing else.
    What is looking bad or good depends on your own taste only.

    How about XVCD? My dvd player does not support SVCD as well.
    I make XVCD with MPEG-2 video 480x576 VBR multipass and I am very happy.

  6. yeah thanks truman i didnt even realize but my dvd does supoort xvcd, im making usin 720x480 with a higher bitrate
