  1. I need help with the following problem.

I used to watch dvd movies on my PC but since some weeks ago, I canīt watch any dvd movies on my PC.
I have a Pioneer DVD 105 with Windows XP operating system (Iīve already updated with SP1).

Iīve tried to watch dvd movies with the following dvd players:

1- ASUSTEK 2000 and it appears an error message "Error code80070001"

2- Power DVD XP 4.0 and it appears an error message "error code
    89030000", "unknow file format".

3- WinDVD 4, doesnīt appear any error but it only opens a black screen without any sound or picture at all.

    Thankīs in advance,

    Groogster

  2. A few questions: can you open the disk through explorer and view the individual files? what happens if you try to rip the DVD to disk or just copy one of the vob files to disk? You might also try updating your motherboard chipset drivers (usually available at intel.com, amd.com, via.com.tw, or from SiS.) Make sure your drive is set up under device manager to operate in DMA mode rather than PIO mode (although I have never seen this situation create an error like the one you described) If this doesn't work, you might try (this is a longshot, but it has worked for me in the past) shutting down the computer, completely disconnect the drive from the computer, let Windows boot back up without the drive present, then shut it down and hook the drive back up. This SHOULD clear out any odd things that Windows might have applied to the drive.

Let me know if you need more specific instructions, Hope this helps
