  1. Ok, so I have a divX harry potter movie on my dell laptop. the laptop has an ati video card with an S-video out. i plugged my s-video into the s-video jack on the tv and also attached an audio cable. i can see the image of the laptop on the tv just fine, but when i play a divX movie, i see nothing in the video window on the TV.

I can see the movie playing fine on the laptop but it is almost as if the video data is not getting sent through the s-video. is there a way to fix this or work around it? i am sorry if this is a common question -- i couldn't seem to find anything similar on the forums. can someone help me solve this problem?

i thought it might be the video driver on the laptop, or perhaps the divX driver. i have divX 5.02 on the laptop. what am i doing wrong?

  2. Have you tried switching the desktop 800x600 or 640x480 first, as some laptops are limited to the Video out resolutions to a TV.
