    Hi,

ok i have asked this a few times and no has helped me, i have a DivX movie with Windows Media Audio V2. i DO have the codec installed, yet when i try to play it it will try to download a codec and play without any sound,

    how can i fix this???????

i tried Nimo Lite, but it makes no difference, i currently have DivX PRO 5.0.2 Can anyone suggest a way to extract the audio as say a WAV so that i can put it together with the video and make a new AVI with MP3 sound which is i think a better option.

    please please help me

    thanks

Try Virtual Dub. There are serveral versions of this programm.
With Virtual Dub you can extract the Audio to a wav file.
You only have to load the movie, then go to audio switch to Full processing mode. And got to data save to wav.

If its not working look for a special version of Virtual Dub ( MP3, AC-3; etc. )

  3. this may or may not help you, it seems like the same problem a couple of people was having in the IRC group i knock around in. an they managed to fix it.
so no promises but here goes:

names have been changed to protect the innocent

    [20:29] <X> DivX 3.11 has a hacked version
[20:29] <X> of WMA 1 and 2, called DivX audio, but divx 4 dropped
    support for it
[20:29] <X> because of legal issues
[20:29] <X> uninstall all divx versions
[20:32] <X> install DivX 3.11 and use the 'DivX audio' codec, select
[20:32] <X> bitrates labeled as 'for divx', the others don't work.
    [20:35] <Y> now i got no image !
[20:36] <X> well if you want to hear the sound you need to install
    divx3.11 then
[20:36] <X> reinstall divx 4.12 for the image, an don't let divx4 handle the divx3 content when prompted

that appeared to have sorted their problem out, i believe that if it will then let you play it in wmp then you should be able to just use standard vdub to extract the audio then you can do whatever you want with it.
try that out an if you still have problems i'll contact the bloke an find out the exact details. but imo it seems to be the same problem that you're having.

    good luck.
