I'll be upgrading my system soon (thank you Jebus) and will more than likely upgrade to WinXP Pro. My question is, what version of WMP will be installed? I still run 6.4, and have thus far absolutely hated every version since.
WMP 6.4 is just so simple to use, and seems to use little minimal resources when playing vids & movies (from VCD to MPG2 & Divx). I'd like to keep using it when I upgrade. So I guess the REAL question here is, will I still have access to WMP 6.4 once I upgrade to XP Pro?

Well mine came with 8.0. I use to have alot of trouble with 8.0 prior to installing XP pro. Now it works like it should.
Opinions will vary from state to state.lolI know enough to be dangerous!!! -
WinXP comes with mplayer 6.4 also, you find it under program files/windows media player\mplayer2.exe . It was a bit tricky to make it the default player but after I managed to fix it it works fiiine.
