  1. Hello , im am trying to convert Divx to Mpeg2 (SVCD) . I loaded in the AVI into TmpGenc. and selected ES Video Only. then i went into video settings and changed it to the fallowing settings:
    MPEG-2 640x352 23.976fps VBR 2120kbps
that is the res of the AVI move.. should i lower it ? .. i have it set to 2 Pass VBR , 500 Min , 2120 Average. and 5000 max. im not sure about the lower box in Video Options , when you change it to Mpeg2...it lights up , but it's ghosted as Mpeg1. anyways... when i set all those settings , i press start. and it analzies and begens to encode the video file. well i noticed that as it goes. it dont show the frames.. so it just sits on 0/342109 on the percentage complete bar but the bar was moving slowly 1 % , 2 % ..Etc...... i came back after 2 hours and it said it had 6 hours left to encode it.. but then i notced that it was encoding the ending credits.... so i though wierd.. then later i came backand it was just encoding black screen.. very strang i though. i still noticed that the percentage bar was moving... but the frames was still at 0/342109 . so i stoped the encode. i checked the Avi i downloaded.. and the movie goes all the way though and stops at the credits...so its not the orginal file..
    Please help me!

(if the avi doesnt have ac3 audio) -> load-(template) > svcd (NTSC - film)..

    hit "start"

  5. If you are using any other version of TMPGenc other than the newest version, then, during the first half of the encoding process, it will have a black screen if you are using variable birate. If you download the newest version, it will show the video and "analysing" over the frames, letting you know that it is working. Hope that helps you.
