vcd prob

hi all
now im quite a newbie at this so please forgive my ignorance
ive captured my video using pinnacle pctv rave, converted to mpeg 1 & 2 using TMPGenc & ive burnt my clips using nero 5.0 vcd wizard & when i put cd into dvd player it says play but i get no pictures or sound on tv
clips are mpeg 1 or mpeg 2
(if i copy a vcd i dont have a problem its only with captured stuf)
dvd player is a dansai 1010 with vcd upgrade installed
can anyone help?

Have you used the standard templates from TMPEG for VCD SVCD ?
If not maybe your player isnt able to play VCD doesn´t confirming to the standards.
Or the bitrate is too high.

Therefore you said you got an VCD upgrade for your player.
SVCD is MPEG 2 so maybe unsupport by your upgrade chip.
