This is a little outside the scope of this forum, but anyone here know (major?) exactly why ffmpeg still lacks the ability to add or drop frames to get a new desired framerate? Are they just lacking a good algorithm for it or what? I can encode my DivX fansubs to VCD faster using ffmpeg with just as good quality as the TMPGEnc template I use, BUT it won't play because my particular player is picky about XVCDs that are not in NTSC Broadcast framerate. So, with all this NTSC Film framerate video, I am a bit up a creek unless there is an easy method to insert frames to bring it up to the 29.97 fps my player seems to want out of XVCDs
